Scoring

The reviews are scored from bad to awesome on a scale of 1 to 5 drams. Here are the possible scores and what they mean:

4 Drams: Marked improvement
It’s a very bad idea to mix these whiskies. I mean, like, really really bad. Don’t even think about it unless you are a glutton for punishment and seek exciting new ways to practice said hobby.

4 Drams: Marked improvement
These are the blends that make you say: ‘Meh’.

3 Drams: Interesting
Something is happening here, there is either a fairly decent variation on the basic theme or a new taste which, although not spectacular, is definitely drinkable.

4 Drams: Very Good

This is a good example what we’re looking for: a marked improvement on the base whiskies and/or a very succesful masking of the less pleasant characteristics of the components.

5 Drams: Spctacular
Wow. I mean, WOW. This is so dramned good I’m gonna stop writing this and have another one.
